I am a great fan of Alexander and saw the film twice. I found it more emotional and enjoyed it much more the second time as I was'nt so distracted by the Irish accents!

Hello Helena - always glad to meet another Al fan - and I couldn't agree more with what you said about seeing the film a second time - Believe or not, the first time I saw this film, after the first 30mins I'd almost written it off as a mediocre film - I'd whispered to me mate "Why are they all speaking with Irish accents?" and he replied "Probably cause they all sounded stupid speaking with a greek one!"
But I know exactly the point when I started to take notice - the Battle of Guagemela and that wonderful shot of the eagle soaring high above - loved that - and then the second time I saw it I - like you - enjoyed it much more - and then - nasty people that they are at my cinema - went and got rid of it - if I could swear here - I would..............
Anyway - have fun here, it's a cool place to be Very Happy

Greetings, welcome, etc.

Shameful how short the cinema run was in this country, innit?
Glad to hear you're a great fan, you're in good company (even if some of us did like the accents from the outset, so there Wink ).

I ask you - you turn your back for five minutes and meantime all these new people start cropping up. Brilliant. Very Happy

Welcome Helena. Glad you enjoyed the film, most of us here did too and are just slightly OBSESSED with it [understatement of the year Laughing ] Its funny, the Irish accents never bothered me at all.

I'm OBSESSED with it (not slightly but...a LOT!!) I saw it 5 times so far.I don't know about the Irish accent because I can only watch it in Italian here. All the films are dubbed. The Italians are able to dub even the Italian films!!!!you know what I mean?

LOL LOL LOL - OK Adriv, I'll do that again! If you say this to the next hello I look at, I'll be completely sloshed and it will be YOUR responsibility what I post after that!

Helena - welcome aboard. I notice you're from London. There are a lot of people on this board from the UK; I think you should all get together at some point. I used to be on a board with a lot of people from Texas; we all gathered in San Antonio a couple times - loads of fun. Anyway, glad to have you around.
