According to Mary Renault (who's almost always accurate -- just sometimes not very historical), Bagoas was rescued by Ptolemy and taken to Egypt to live. In return, Bagoas supposedly assisted in taking Alexander's corpse to Egypt. The book is called Funeral Games.

One of my all-time favourite books. Wouldn,t it be nice if Bagoas did actually spend the rest of his life near Alexander? |
