There are unconfirmed reports that Connor Paolo has signed to appear in Stone's new film about 9/11, currently in preproduction. Now known only as "Untitled Oliver Stone/September 11 Project," the movie concerns two police officers trapped in the rubble after the collapse of the WTC towers. This is based on a true story about the last two persons found alive in the wreckage, their rescuers and families who never gave up hope. Connor would play the oldest son of Nicholas Cage, one of the officers.
If true, this casting makes a lot of sense. Stone had a lot of complimentary things to say about Connor in the commentary on the Alexander DVD and it seems logical he would think of him for the part.
He said he was bright, easy to work with and praised his focus and dedication, concluding, "He has a helluva future." Putting two and two together from some things I know, I have a hunch Connor was approached about this over a year ago.
Btw, per IMDb, Gary Stretch will also be in the movie. I wonder if there are other former Alexander cast members who might appear? |

IMDb finally has listed Connor as a cast member in the Oliver Stone 9/11 film. His character's name is "Steven McLoughlin." I believe he may have already completed his part in the movie because the production has moved from the NYC area to a Los Angeles sound stage to shoot the Ground Zero scenes. The tentative release date is August 11, 2006, one month prior to the fifth anniversary of the attack.
Connor was chosen to play Steven over two other well-known teenaged actors, Rory Culkin (Signs, Mean Creek) and Spencer Treat Clark (Gladiator, Mystic River). Gary Stretch's name no longer appears in the cast list.
The working title is "September," but a permanent name hasn't been selected yet. |

There are reports Connor will appear in "Snow Angels," to be filmed in February in Nova Scotia. The movie will be directed by David Gordon Green (George Washington, Undertow) and is based on a novel by Stewart O'Nan. The cast includes Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell, Amanda Peet and another very talented teen actor, Michael Angarano.
A page of links for World Trade Center (the official name for the Oliver Stone/9-11 film) has been added to THE CONNOR PAOLO FILES:

Connor has completed work on World Trade Center and Snow Angels. Both films are now in post-production. Currently, he's filming a new episode of Law and Order, SVU. We don't know yet if this will be a reprise of his "Zachary Connor" character.
Three new galleries for Alexander have been added to THE CONNOR PAOLO FILES, plus pages for interviews with Connor and DVDs with Connor.

He's been a very busy young actor lately. In addition to the above roles,
he's done commercials, jingles, readings, "backer's auditions" and even voiced a character in a video game. |

Connor has completed a new episode of Law and Order, SVU, to be broadcast in the US May 9, 2006. The subject matter of "Web" is even darker than Connor's first SVU appearance, "Juvenile" in 2002. Once again, his character is less than admirable. Only a very brave, dedicated, actor would agree to be seen in this kind of material which promises to be very controversial. |
