Very good isela.
I have seen the bust in Athens ( Acropolis museum ) and the one in Olympia museum. They are beautiful.
I would like to see the ones in Louvre, in London ...etc I would like to see all of them |

They are indeed very good, I love all the statues of Alexander , I think they seem to capture/create a realistic image of him , and have a interesting tone to them. |

Some of those sculptures are rather sylised.....the ones from Museo Barracco (I think) remind me of some of Hera....!
I now tend to take the 'plainer' ones as more factual of his looks, or at least as he got older (he would have 'weathered' and 'hardened' quite a bit by 30) as in the possible Lysippos copy - Azara Herme from Paris.
The Roma Capatolino ones are also nice and obviously from the same period as the Pompeii Mosaic.....he has sideburns....lol

Thanks isela - those were great. You're right, doesn't matter if the words are in Spanish - I got the meaning just the same.
I recently ran across this site
http://www.isidore-of-seville.com/ImagesofAlexander/
haha - hope that works!
I thought it was funny because there is a group of pictures on this site with people posing by Alexander statues - reminded me of our group!! I think at one point some of the people are called Alexander groupies! No, that couldn't be us.
Also, I know quite a while back Alexandros_20 was looking for a map from the time; there's a whole section with maps. |

True, it's funny to see those people posing with Alexander. I guess we would do just about the same.
Some days ago I was in the Prado Museum, here in Madrid, and I saw the "Portrait of a Diadoch". I couldn't resist it, so I touched the face of this diadoch (I looked before to see that no guard of the museum was looking at me ).
I had found some other maps some time ago and I forgot to tell you, but thanks for the information. These maps seem to be very well done. |

si de hecho toda la historia me interesa porque bueno nos conecta con todo lo que pasa hoy en dia de hecho en veces hay tantos paralelismos en la actualidad con la historia de los 40s que wow en fin
todo esto es para decir que si leo la revista |

Thank you for sites Isela. Statues are just beautiful. Only I can't help but noticing that only few of them are in Greece now. |
