From The Times Online
The Traveller was formerly the tours department of the British Museum, and has a perfect eight-day group tour called "Macedonia: Land of Alexander". You start off in Thessalonica, at the city's Archaeological and Byzantine Museums for some context, and to see the astonishing jewellery of the ancient Macedonians.
Then you travel to Pella to see Alexander's tomb, and to Vergina to trace the spot where his father was murdered, visit his tomb and palace, and to the spectacular mountain monasteries at Meteora, and Edessa, where there is an impressive waterfall, and the grotto where Aristotle is said to have tutored the young Alexander.
The trip costs from £2,195pp, with flights from Gatwick to Thessalonica, B&B 2-3 star accommodation and most evening meals, and the learned company of Dr Cecily Hennessey, who is an expert in Byzantine art history, and Alexander.
And to peek at some further options, see Peter Sommer, Ace Study Tours, Andante Travels, or Silk Road & Beyond. |

I thought trips or flights where a lot cheaper from the UK to Hellas I could see if I flew out from LA etc. You better off staying with Olvios and he knows those areas real well filos. |

It does sound a lot to me. If you travel there by yourself and not with a group, I think it's cheaper. |
