Is it just me or is Rene Zellweger just one of the sweetest people?

Sorry if I offend anyone - but I don't lilke C Z Jones. I think she has become too 'Americanised' since she became famous - even her accent has changed - which I think is very false seeing as how it was so different not so long ago. Crying or Very sad

Hi,
Yes, Kevin, I really like Rene Zellweger. She is talented and has old time movie star glamour.
Also, I'm not sure if I like Catherine Zeta Jones either - I can take her or leave her. She seems to me to be too grasping for fame; she doesn't just want to be a 'movie star' but "Hollywood Royalty"..... Rolling Eyes
And, Magika, as always you have the best photographs in town. Cool
I do like that necklace though; I could live off the proceeds of those diamonds for years..... Ha, ha... Twisted Evil

looks like, as the 'E' channel , some of u too like to comment on how the stars dressed at the Academy Awards.

PLEASE DONT GET ME STARTED ON THIS

As for a clean sweep by the LOTR, it was expected, at least by me.
Here some Info On Them

What are the Academy Awards aka as the Oscars ?

An event which occurs every spring since the 1927.
Its an organization made up of over 5000 members who are proffesionals in the film industry them being: Actors, Directors, Editors, Pruducers and Film Craftsmen who cast their ballot to whom they think deserves a particular Award in a particular Movie. The purpose of the Academy Awards is to promote excellence in filmmaking by honoring extraordinary achievements from the previous year.

When u see a particular Actor saying " I would like to thank the Academy........", he or she is referring to the members who voted in their favour, and the Academy itself.

In order for a eligibility of a film category to be analysed for nomination, the film must have the following requisites:

1) It must be more than 40 minutes long.
2) Its public premiere must have been in a movie theater, during the appropriate calendar year (during 2003, for the 76th Academy Awards).
3) It must have premiered in 35mm or 70mm film format or in 24-frame, progressive scan digital format.
4) It must have played in an L.A. County theater, for paid admission, for seven consecutive days, beginning in the appropriate calendar year.

If the film's producer would like the movie to be considered for nomination, they must submit a Official Screen Credits to the Academy who process the information gathered on all movies, produce a Reminder List of all the movies and send it together with a ballot to all the members of that particular field

For Eg. an actor votes for actors, producers for producers.........etc.

The Oscar statuette is made out of brittanium (an alloy) and plated with 24 carat gold standing on a marble base. It weighs 3.5 kg. and stands 13.5 inches high.
It depicts a crusader knight with a sword, according to the Academy. The knight stands on a film reel, with five spokes that represent the five original branches of the Academy: Directors, Actors, Writers, Producers and Technicians.

But does anyone agree with me that the Oscars are more political nowadays than anything else?

Most deserving in the eyes of the majority are often snubbed.

How about they make the awards open to public votes. Let the public decide. Surely the awards would mean more that way...
