Hi,
I've seen the the final cut version, and i love it. For me is even better than the first one. In my opinion this is the best epic movie ever done. Probably is not as enjoyable as other kind of movies more centred in pure intertaiment but this version is not open to all types of audience. In my opinion you must like history to enjoy this movie. When i saw Alexander sitting with the ascetic hindus i felt hapiness to see something that till that moment only existed in my mind, its just a simple exemple of what i mean, and it was only few seconds.

I really enjoyed the first version but the Final Cut evidences some subjective lacks of the first one. Now Hephestion is "in his place" and also Bagoas. Old Ptolomy is more enjoyable and easier to understand.
The Alexander's death takes more time and it was necessary for the drama. I can tell the same of Aristotil school scene, Philip and his son in the caves and the intro of Ptolomy.
And i like a lot what Oliver did for ending the film adding few lines about the library and what has been lost, it lets you with a beatifull nostalgic feeeling.
Thaks Oliver for this film, you put the level very high and you honored Alexander's legacy.

The Region 1 version seems to be up at Amazon UK Confused Not sure what's happening with Region 2. Any clues, anyone? I'm not even sure if my player works with R1 because I got rid of the packaging.

I heard it was delayed, Catherine. I am not sure when it will be out in Region 2. If I see anything I will be sure to post it.

I wish you guys could see this version, it is so good. I have seen it 3 times now and it just keeps getting better each time you watch it.

Hi,
as a few of you already know, although my DVD was pre-ordered in January, it has only just been posted out to me - with apologies.
That is the Region 1 version.
I am rather annoyed, it may sound rather mercenary, but if I'd known this, I could have got it far cheaper and quicker from eBay... Embarassed !!!
regards
Cynisca

The most fantastic thing has happened. On Tuesday, when I was about to complain to Amazon because it was the last day they had set as the "latest" delivery estimated time (as it was supposed to arrive in March), one of the people that works in my apartment building knocked on the door and... gave me my Alexander Revisited DVD that had just arrived. Yes, I had put everybody on alert, as I was desperate already to get it, haha. The great thing is that I have it now, so I'm ready for a new chat session with the DVD which, according to Dara, it will be on the 28th.
New comments are on their way!

Finally, Alexandros!!

That took forever! Did they send it by turtle or something?

I am glad that you received it.

Yes, the chat will be on April 28th, if anyone is interested in joining that coulsn't make it the last time.. I will post another message in the DVD chat thread. If we have as much fun as e did last time this shouls be good.
