Anyone ever wondered who Alexander would be if he were born today? Another Bin Laden perhaps.... or Arafat???? I just can't picture him as Prince Charles of England patiently waiting to take over the throne from Elizabeth! |

He wouldn't last long either..... someone would have killed him sooner or lately. |

I reckon he'd be someone like Richard Branson, an entrepreneur of some sort. |

Alexander was Alexander and no other. The context where yoy live can change your personality. So, there was a man, who lived in those years and made some things, in the same way that I am I and can't be there another me.. |

Yes, I know. We're all unique, which is amazing really. I suppose that is why sometimes, all the bits that make up a human come together to make someone who everyone loves, but most times they don't gel properly and make ordinary people.
sorry if this doesn't make sense. My husband just walked in naked out of his bath and said 'are you still talking about Alexander? You're obsessed, you love him more than me!' So I forgot what I was writing |

Here's a risky reply:
He would be a "sane Hitler".
I say this because I don't see how Alexander would've ever been a peaceful man, he longed for conquest and glory (as did all ancient Greek rulers).
So odds are today he would build one of the greatest fighting forces ever known, and take on the whole world (without exterminating innocents though) or try to anyhow....
I don't see how he would be a financial goliath taking over the world via commerce as he had no patience, so I still think he would be a war-like conqueror |

You know what Tino?.... I thought that too. People will think of him as like you put it "a sane Hitler" and more, because of people narrow-minded thougths and new ways of thinking.
I didn't say anything because of the risk but now that you said first...
But I'm glad to think of Alexander as he is and like he was, back in those days... |

It's a fact that Hitler took on the known world and was a very articulate and persuasive speaker (we won't touch the subject of his tactical military knowledge or his sanity) and I think those are traits which any Nationalistic leader possesses, and Alexander was certainly very nationalistic when it came to conquering Persia. |

Anyone rather thought about the reincarnations of Alexander after his most known one? That is something i am trying to discover lately.. (thats if you believe in it to start with ).
As for what would he achieve today? Its not only the abilities a man posesses, a lot of things are 'pre-destined' and chosen way before one is born.. He was afterall grown up by the best to be the best.. |

Funny, this same topic showed up at an Alexander-the-Great website I visit called www.***
Look under forum to see the responses. Everything from Elvis to Nelson Mandela.
Actually, it's a very informative site concerning Alexanders history; lots of good information. |

Yes, Vulgaren, if he was you, you would suddenly get loads of visitors at your door, asking if you really slept with Hephaestion or not |
