It seems most of you were familiar with Colin Farrell before the making of this film and so it may seem a shock to see him blond. I, however, was not really aware of him before I went to see this film and I fell in love (ok, maybe not love but something along those lines - I'd put the blushing smile face here if I knew how) with him during the time I watched this movie. I thought he looked absolutely gorgeous with the blond locks (as well as the short skirt too!) Funny, when I've looked at pictures of him now with dark hair it seems odd to me. I suppose it's all what you are used to. Anybody else out there just notice him for the first time or am I just terribly slow to catch on? |

What are you talking about? There aren't any blond Greeks! Are you kidding me? I have met a lot of greeks that are blond. I even had an affair with one. ALL this is nonsense.Of course there are blond Greeks like there are dark-haired Danes or in general people from Scandinavia.Alexander was fair-haired and so was Achilles. |

Of course, I'd prefer Alexander not to have been a blond , because Colin looks better with dark hair.Look at him in the photo I chose. Isn't he gorgeous? |

Sorry joanna, I must disagree. I LOVED the blond; much prefer it over the dark hair.
Adriv - nobody knows for sure but it's been stated that he was fair. So, depends how you interpret that. Some think it was a light brown; others say blond. So I guess you can picture it however you like! I personally am going for the blond in my fantasies - (clearing throat), not that my intrest is anything but intellectual! Most sources that I have read agree that he was handsome although not very tall (but not a midget either) but Hephaestion was supposed to be even more handsome. |

I think you're right.Colin looks good as Al with his blond hair. Any way,I think Colin would look gorgeous with any hair color. |

I have always had this idea that Alexander was simply lighter haired than the rest of the Macedonians, who were possibly mostly dark haired and dark eyed. *This isn't based on any knowledge of anything except knowing how people compare each other.*
For example, I have dark brown hair and pale skin, so compared to someone with mousy brown hair, I have dark colouring, but compared to an Oriental person with their classic colouring, I have fair colouring. I think people just compared Al to themselves, that's why we get different reports about his hair colour: it depends on their own colouring. |

True, does Alexander ever look truly the same in any of his depictions? A many of many reflections I think. I like his hair when it's longer, in the film, just not when it's short it's too cutesy, and besides acting and attractiveness, this film just made me see Colin Farrell as I had not seen him before, ever since first laying eyes on him in BBC 1's ballykissangel |
