Hi. I'm a new member; I live in Chicago where I'm a full time student.

Anybody else on here who lives near Chicago?

Just a heads up for anyone in or near this great city: the University of Chicago docfilms program is showing "Alexander" on a big screen on Saturday, 5 March at 6pm and at 9:15pm.

I only got to see it once at the theatre, so I'm looking forward to seeing it on the big screen again Razz

They show a lot of foreign films, art films and films like "Alexander" which the literati like but the general public abhors.

It's at Ida Noyes Hall; that's about 4 blocks west of Lake Shore Drive on 58th Street. The films cost only $4 to see, but the drawback is that they don't serve food or drinks Evil or Very Mad Friends who've been there, though, tell me they can sneak in bottled water and nobody objects Smile

Ooh! That must mean we on the board here are the literati, not the general public. We are the elite Laughing

Adriv, you've let me down. No wine salute to Alexander this time?

Wingnut13 (interesting name, where did that come from?) - Welcome. I could be iin Chicago by plane in a couple of hours but I think it's too short of notice to make the movie tomorrow! But damn, it would be worth it. I haven't seen it in probably a month now. Always glad to hear from new people that enjoyed the film; we're seeing more and more all the time. YEAH! Let us know what you thought about it the second time around.
