Hello. I am trying to find a good documentary film about Alexander; I would like to have it give a lot of information about various battles and his strategies. Any suggestions?
Also, I read reviews of "In the Footsteps of Alexander" on ebay - sounds very interesting. Has anyone seen it? |

There is a very good video series call 'The Great Commanders' which includes Alexander, Caesar, Napoleon, Nelson, and Zukov.
The video relating to Alexander only discusses the battle of Issus but it is a very good insight into the tactics and lead up to the battle.
I have seen the videos in both UK and Australian libraries but I will try and find some further details for you.

I've read the book "In the footsteps of Alexander" and it was a good read, more analyzing his affect up to this day than anything else, but still a good book.
I would recommend http://www.*** it's a Dutch professor's historical site, although some of the things he/she has written is debatable, at least everything is well written and properly sourced. |
