Wow Ysoria - you said it perfectly. You are correct, when you watch the film over again and again you pick up more each time about the characters. |

there are some shows that are entertaining to watch the first time round...but its just not "rewatchable" because its all flat and nothing to think about. |

I think Colin is great and did well in the role of Alexander The Great. (They are tough shoes to fill)
However i would love to have seen how Brad Pitt would have done in the role.
They are both equally good to play Alexander i think. However hats of to Colin he did expetional. |

weel, very hard for me this cos I've always loved brad pitt and never een into colin.but having said that I prefer brad when he portrays sensitive sweeter compassionate characters, so when I watch him hard as stone as Achilles-a story which I enjoy since childhood-it just didn't cut it, sure he looks great in it, but thats not the whole point with these kind of films about sacred passages in time, it should be about a good performance more surely-even though I'm really into that blon greek god look, and the fact that patrclus was suddenly his cousin, which kind of kills the sympathy behind achilles' passion, kind of pissed me off, maybe wrongly at Brad, cos I wonder if he and the playing it safe producers gave a **** about portraying the elements as they were. Not changed to suit Hollywood types or the audience. To me if you see a film about ancient history, than you have to accept it as it is.Now, as for Colin, to me he pulled the soft, vulnerable on the edge side of Alexander, as well as the brave, strong powerful leader. He was perfect, as we can hope a real life portraya to be, from ancient times.I'm obessed with the Alexander film, and Troy is enjoyable but basically, apart from Eric Banners heartfell portrayl,a swashbuckler. |

Philalexandros, does it seem to me or you've changed your avatar during the course of the day and then come back to your original one? |

I couldn't agree with you more - Colin did an exceptional job playing Alexander The Great. And yes, I did see both movies. I must say that I am a fan of Colin Farrell's and initially, that did influence me but, as I saw the movie several times (as I did Troy), I couldn't see anyone but Colin playing Alexander. |
